Firecracker 500 & Chili Cook Off

Annual "Firecracker 500" Pursuit Race & "Great Chili Cook-Off"! After the regatta, enter our famous "Chili Cook-Off" to benefit VISAR*! The cook-off will start around 5:30pm; everyone is invited to sample the chili offerings for just $5, and vote to select your favorite. BVI Billfish Tournament
July 17, 2011 to July 20, 2011
The fishing takes place at the North Drop, in an area ranging just 13-30 miles from Bitter End. Competitors take off early each morning, fish all day and return to the resort for virtual weigh in -- because it is a catch and release tournament, the fish stats are recorded at sea - and evenings of relaxing social events. In addition to great prizes from event sponsors, proceeds from the event support local charitable organizations that benefit families of the Virgin Islands in need. Full details at www.beyc.com.

Emancipation Festival Days
July 19, 2011 to August 7, 2011
BVI Emancipation Festival Days! Arguably the biggest festival and cultural event of the year for the British Virgin Islands. An annual celebration commemorates the 1834 Emancipation Act which abolished slavery in the British West Indies. The celebration happens on all of the islands. Visitors and locals participate with live music, dancing, street performers, parties and parades all laced with a distinct Caribbean spice and flavour. Christmas in July has become one of the most expected Puerto Rican holidays of the year. During the last week of July, the Puerto Rican Navy shuts down the Island and everybody comes to the BVI to celebrate! There are literally hundreds of Puerto Rican boats all sizes and types around for the week. Being a very family oriented and sociable group, as most Hispanics are, the boats are seen anchored and rafted together in the many bays around the BVI. Swan yacht owners enjoy a warm, relaxed tropical atmosphere in sunny BVI. The 8th annual ClubSwan Caribbean Rendezvous takes place March 12-17th, 2012 cruising from the Bitter End Yacht Club. Ideally scheduled to fit in with he Caribbean racing calendar, Swan ARC competitors can race in the RORC Caribbean 600, late February in Antigua and the Heineken Regatta in St. Maarten at the beginning of March.
